Update your TRB record

Section 25 (Part 3) of the Teachers Registration Act 2000 states that a person must notify the Board of any change in the person's name, address and qualifications before, or within 60 days after, that change.  

Change your name

To formally change your name on our records we need to receive suitable documentary evidence:

  • A certified copy of a marriage certificate,

  • A certified copy of a deed poll, or

  • Other name change documentation.

Update your contact details

  • Residential Address

  • Postal address

  • Email and contact phone numbers

Log into your TRB Account on TRB Online, click on the second blue tab My details and use the edit function to activate the fields so you can update your record. Only use numerals for your phone number.Please make sure your email address is kept up to date as this is the main method the TRB will use to communicate important messages to you.

Add a qualification

Log into your TRB Account on TRB Online, click on the second blue tab My details, select Qualifications and use the add function to complete the qualification fields.

To have the Board verify your qualifications we need to receive suitable documentary evidence:

  • For completed tertiary qualifications: Certified copies of the full academic transcripts indicating that the degree/ award was conferred / awarded.

  • For completed vocational qualifications: Certified copies of the Certificates / Diplomas/ Advanced Diplomas AND certified copies of the accompanying Statement of Results. 

Post us certified copies of these documents to the Teachers Registration Board of Tasmania at GPO Box 539, Hobart, TAS, 7001.  

The Teachers Registration Board of Tasmania is unable to accept electronic or facsimile copies of documentary evidence.

Or bring in the original document to copy and certify in our offices at Level 4, 2 Kirksway Place, Battery Point.
