Australian Accredited Initial Teacher Education Programs

Information relating to accredited teacher education programs contained within this database has been provided by the relevant teacher regulatory authorities in each state and territory. Enquiries about the accreditation of these programs should be directed to the relevant teacher regulatory authority.

All qualifications listed on the database, regardless of the accreditation process, meet the teacher education component of the qualification requirement for registration (accreditation) as a (primary/secondary) school teacher in all states and territories. However, as there may be other requirements applicants will need to satisfy to gain teacher registration, applicants should refer to the relevant teacher regulatory authority website in the state or territory in which they wish to work before enrolling into any of these programs.

The following Australian initial teacher education programs are also accredited and therefore recognised, by the Board:

  • Australian Accredited programs list.

What if I gained my qualifications overseas?

If you hold international qualifications read about having your qualifications formally assessed prior to applying for registration.
