For Principals, Mentors and Panels
Education is entering an era of increased professionalism and innovation and we are all playing a part in the transformation. Thank you for your part in renewing the profession through quality induction and mentoring.
The resources provided here and elsewhere on the TRB website in regard to the transition from Provisional to Full Registration are provided to support not only the provisionally registered teachers themselves, but also to support the teachers with Full Registration who will be mentoring them, supporting their induction, assessing their proficiency and readiness for full registration and leading the workplaces where they are completing this important phase of growth, reflection and development.
Remember that if you are on a workplace/assessment panel or conducting formal classroom observations for the change of registration category process, you must hold current Full Registration.
Those appointed to the assessment panel or working as a practice-focused mentor, together with the Principal, will find the handbook for principals, mentors and panels (as well as the checklists) particularly helpful to guide their roles. It is also strongly recommended that they read the Applicant Handbook and ensure they are aware of all the various tools and templates available to each of the roles involved in this important teacher quality process.
