Self Audit against the Accomplishment Standard

The Professional Teaching Standards in this Framework have been developed by Tasmanian teachers from Catholic, Independent and government schools through the Australian Government Quality Teacher Programme (AGQTP) and the Teachers Registration Board.

The purpose of these Professional Teaching Standards is to ‘map the territory’ of teaching, explicitly describing what teachers know, value and do at different stages of a career.

The Professional Teaching Standards have been endorsed by key stakeholders from across the Tasmanian education community as appropriate for our teachers.

A Glossary has been developed to enhance the effectiveness of each standard by providing explanations for each italicised term in the framework.

It is intended that the Professional Teaching Standards will be monitored and continue to evolve to maintain currency.
